Emile Patoux
Info
Emile Patoux (Mellet, 1893 - Brussels, 1985) was a Belgian painter and architect who had education at the academies of Brussels and The Hague. During the first world war, Emile spent some time in the military and painted fisherman in his time off. Later, in the 1920s, he painted portraits and landscapes using a divisionist technique. This neo-impressionist style requires the viewer to combine the colors optically instead of mixing the pigments physically. In this way, Patoux was able to create maximum luminosity in his paintings.
