Jef Leempoels (Brussels °1867 - Ixelles °1935) was a painter and draughtsman born and educated in Brussels. His artistic interest mostly lay with allegorical compositions, landscapes, marine art and still lifes. His talent most easily expressed itself in his exquisite portraiture. During his lifetime, he notably painted official portraits of King Leopold II and King Albert I, and exhibited at the 1900 Paris Exposition. Leempoels's work can, among other places, be found in the collections of the museums of Ixelles and Namur.
