John Gérard

Info

John Gérard (Hasselt °1900 - Mechelen °1965) was a Belgian artist who had an education in law and even had an early career as lawyer. After participating in local art movements, Gérard soon developed an impressionist style and started painting landscapes at first. Those were typically backed by a sky in blue, gray and brown colors. Later on he expanded his work with portraits, picturesque corners, local scenes, … in which the explicit use of colors was a trend.
