Lodew Bosscke (alias for Louis Van Den Bossche, Schaarbeek °1900 - Brussels °1980) was a painter whose oeuvre covered many subjects, ranging from nudes and portraits to animals, landscapes and still lifes. In the 1920s, he lived in Paris where he worked in the stained glass workshop of Jacques Grüber and studied at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière as well as the Ecole nationale des Beaux-Arts. In 1930, Bosscke returned to Belgium. In 1991, he was honored with a retrospective in his hometown of Schaarbeek.
