Michaël Borremans (Geraardsbergen °1963) is a graphic artist, painter and draughtsman working and living in Ghent. Educated at St. Lucas in Ghent, Borremans worked as an art teacher at a variety of Belgian art schools from the late 1980s to the mid-90s before returning to his own artistic practice. Borremans's work has been internationally lauded and included in multiple private and public art collections. In 2010, he was commissioned by the Queen of Belgium to make a series of paintings for the Royal Palace in Brussels.
