Paul Hagemans (Antwerp °1884 - Antwerp °1959) was a post-impressionist painter, draughtsman and graphic artist. Himself the son of a painter, Hagemans was educated in Brussels. His subjects of preference included portraits, village sights, landscapes, religious themes and historical events. His application of paint was characteristically generous, his palette optimistically luminist. During his lifetime, Hagemans also designed murals, stained glass windows and theater decors.
