Farasyn meets Horváth

On Thursday 26 March, we organise a special exhibition at our gallery around two painters. It involves Edgar Farasyn and Pàl Horváth. At first sight, these two painters do not have a lot in common but for both we have a very good reason to present their work and an interesting story behind them.

From Edgard Farasyn we will present just one work, but a very special one, namely "The Old Fish Market in Antwerp". The work has a pendant, meaning it is one of two paintings belonging together, which hangs in the KMSKA. Originally the fish market was located right next to "Het Steen", a stone's throw away from our gallery. This connection makes a unique opportunity to present this masterpiece and share this beautiful piece of Antwerpian history with the public.

The second part of the exhibition will showcase the work of Pàl Horváth. The Hungarian born painter moved to Brussels in his twenties and there further developed his artistic talent. An artist of many trades he constructed both sculptures and paintings in a geometric abstract style. In 2025, Pàl Horváth passed away and we selected a series of art works in order to pay a tribute to his œuvre.
